Leonard Toker has been practicing law as a trial attorney for over 40 years. He started his career as a confidential law assistant at the NYS Supreme Court from 1978 through 1980. His primary practice has been defense litigation. His defense work involves a wide variety of fields including personal injury arising from negligence claims as well as products liability, construction ( Labor Law violations) automobile and trucking cases, wrongful death, civil assault, Dram shop actions, premises security and a variety of premises negligence cases.
In addition, he has an extensive background handling matters involving Directors and Officers Liability issues, Co-op/Condo Board matters plus Gender and Age Discrimination.
He has tried hundreds of cases and as many arbitrations and mediations in his capacity as House Counsel and Attorney of Record/Senior Trial Counsel for Chubb Insurance Group for 24 years until 2010 when he retired from Chubb. His duties included the handling of high exposure cases involving seven and eight figures. Since retiring from Chubb he has been in solo practice as Of Counsel to numerous law firms and insurers who utilize his services for trial work, discovery as well as trial monitoring for primary and excess carriers.
